A lightweight liner sleeping bag that widens your temperature range
The ADRIFT LINER is a liner sleeping bag made with Octa®CPCP®, a lightweight mesh fleece. In summer it works as a standalone thin sleeping bag, and in winter it can be layered inside your existing down sleeping bag to boost warmth. It's breathable and quick-drying, so it stays comfortable even on sweaty days or trips with large temperature swings.
How the Octa®CPCP® mesh fleece works
Octa®CPCP® is a mesh fleece fabric that integrates an irregular cross-section hollow polyester brushed fiber, which forms the insulating layer, into a mesh face fabric. The dead air formed in the hollow cores and around the eight ridges gives it both lightness and warmth along with good heat release. The fiber itself is about half the weight of a regular polyester fiber of the same diameter, and it's also moisture-wicking and quick-drying. This material is usually used as a lining, but STATIC uses it as a standalone fleece here, built for use as a sleeping bag liner.
Usability and packability
It packs down to a roughly 12cm-diameter cylinder, so it's easy to fit into gaps in your backpack and easy to carry. The mesh fleece structure lets excess heat and moisture escape easily, making it a versatile liner for both cooling down when you're too warm and boosting warmth when you need it.
Environmental consideration and production background
53% of the fabric has been recycled since fall/winter 2023, cutting CO2 emissions during fabric production by 23% compared to virgin polyester Octa®CPCP® (calculated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd.). It's produced at an OEKO-TEX®-certified factory in Japan, and dyeing uses biomass (plant-derived) sources instead of petroleum. Fiber waste generated during fabric production is also recycled. The trims are considered too.
