Sawyer is a portable water purifier that boasts the world's highest level of purification performance. It is popular among hikers and long trail hikers because there is no need to carry a lot of water and you can drink water immediately from water sources scattered around the country, such as rivers and lakes. By filtering with an ultra-high density filter, it can remove 99.99999% of harmful bacteria, water-based microorganisms, and parasites such as echinococcus that lurk in the water, turning it into drinking water.
*This filter cannot remove dissolved solids including calcium and magnesium and heavy metals, radioactive substances, industrial wastewater, water that may contain dissolved chemicals, or viruses which are even smaller than bacteria.
0.1 micron compatible water purification filter
The filter body contains a U-shaped hollow fiber membrane, which filters water through countless uniform holes of 0.1 microns. This makes it possible to create a high-performance, small, lightweight and durable filter. 0.1 microns is equivalent to 0.0001 mm in millimeters, and does not allow the passage of common bacteria, which are said to be 0.5 to 1 micron in size.
Gravity system makes water purification quicker and more comfortable
Adopts a gravity system that automatically purifies water by gravity. Water is purified by the weight of the water, so you can get purified water quickly and effortlessly. You can purify water by hanging it using the included mesh bag. Another attractive feature is that it does not block your hands. If you set it up at night when camping, you can use the purified water in the morning, which is very convenient. You can also purify water even faster by applying a little pressure.
*If you lower the pouch from top to bottom while there is water on the outside of the pouch, the unpurified water may fall directly into a water bottle without passing through the inside of the filter, so be sure to wipe off any moisture before hanging it.
Supports a variety of uses other than gravity

① Can be directly attached to commercially available plastic bottles . Even in situations where a pouch is not available, you can purify water using readily available plastic bottles.
② Can be joined to the included pouch
Two 1L pouches are included as standard, so we recommend using one for wastewater and the other for purified water. Pouches can also be purchased separately. Connect the included straw to drink directly. You can insert the straw into a cup or bottle, or drink purified water directly from the water source.
④ Can also connect to hydration systems made by other companies <br>Compatible with hydration, which is essential for mountain climbing and trekking.
If the screw part is compatible with connections, it can be used for even more purposes. Try to find a way to use it that suits you.

Safety recognized by water quality tests in Japan
The "Recommended Disaster Prevention Products" certified by the Disaster Prevention and Safety Association, a general incorporated association that is a member of the Cabinet Office Disaster Prevention Promotion Council, is a system that recommends disaster prevention products that are deemed safe and can be effectively used in the event of a disaster. Sawyer's hollow fiber has thick walls for each fiber, and our own research has proven that it is 75% stronger than other major brands. This makes it durable enough to withstand backflushing (maintenance cleaning), eliminating the need for filter replacement, and enabling a single filter to purify 380,000 liters of water. In addition, while other companies typically use random testing or batch testing, which involves selecting and testing a few items from a large number of items, Sawyer has manufactured all of its products in its own factory in Florida since its founding in 1984 and conducts product testing three times on each item to ensure the safety of its products.
*There are many products on the market that imitate the performance of Sawyer. Products that use low-strength fibers may not perform as well as they should if you repeatedly purify water or backflush. Please be careful of imitations when purchasing.
Backflush (maintenance cleaning)
After use, you can use the included cleaning syringe (without needle) to inject clean water from the reverse direction to remove impurities and clean the filter. Backflushing restores approximately 98% of the filter's functionality, making it possible to purify water as before.
By connecting the optional cleaning coupling to the drinking spout side, you can connect a pouch or plastic bottle and perform backflushing without using a syringe. *If it seems that the function is not returning to normal, we recommend repeating the backflushing several times.
