Up until now, I had been using lightweight felt, which is difficult to conduct heat, but I felt guilty because the fibers tend to fall out and end up remaining in nature without biodegrading. The silica airgel series solves this problem by offering a new option that is both lightweight and practical for mountain climbing.
What is SiO₂ AEROGEL?
Silica airgel is a by-product of silica gel manufacturing. However, its performance is so unique that it was adopted by NASA. Called ``frozen smoke'' or ``solid smoke,'' it is a next-generation material that is extremely low-density solid, lightweight, and has high heat insulation properties.
2 sizes to choose from depending on how you use it
SOLO is approximately 15cm square, and A4, as the name suggests, is A4 paper size.
If you want to use it with an alcohol stove or a minimalist 500cc or less cooker that uses solid fuel, you can choose SOLO, and if you want to use it with a large pot or separate gas stove, you can choose A4.
SOLO can be folded in four, and A4 can be folded in two, so they can be stored compactly.
