NEMO Dragonfly OSMO™ 2P

A light freestanding tent pairing a 2.7㎡ two-person floor with 34% more headroom

The NEMO Dragonfly OSMO™ 2P is a freestanding tent with a minimum weight of 1.26kg and a two-person floor area of 2.7㎡. Vestibules of 0.8㎡ on each side let two people separate their entries and their gear space. The interior height is 102cm. What defines it is not only floor area but the way the crossbar and pole structure widen the volume up top.

The fly and floor use NEMO's own OSMO™ ripstop, with stretch when wet, lasting water repellency and hydrolysis resistance all taken into account. It combines a fabric and frame that hold their shape after pitching while keeping the weight down.

Elements™ hardware supports the crossbar high

At the top of the tent sits an Elements™ hub made from forged aluminum. The hub holds the wings of the crossbar facing upward before any tension is applied, pushing the ceiling plane higher than a conventional cross pole would.

The Precurve™ system gives the crossbar itself a pre-set bend, bringing the ceiling closer to level. By NEMO's published figures, headroom volume increases by 34% over the previous structure. Rather than raising a single point at the center, it is a structure that keeps headroom across the area where two people sit side by side.

DIAPOLE™ recycled aluminum poles raise the walls

The frame uses DIAPOLE™ recycled aluminum poles. A hub structure and pre-bending raise the upper and foot-end walls, making the 2.7㎡ floor easier to use as sleeping space.

The poles and their matching webbing are color coded, so connection points are easy to read at pitch. The four corners of the fly use light Axial™ Lite corner anchors, simplifying the step of attaching the fly once the poles are up.

OSMO™ holds down sag after rain

OSMO™ is a high-performance ripstop combining nylon and polyester, used for both the fly and the floor. It uses 100% recycled material, is PFAS free, and adds no flame retardants.

By NEMO's published figures, it is 20% stronger than typical tent fabric and holds stretch when wet to one third that of the previous material. Even after the fly takes on water from rain or dew it sags less, making the clearance to the inner tent easier to keep.

Its water repellency also starts high, lasts four times longer than before, and holds its performance five times as long. Taking on less water speeds drying after rain and reduces the weight gained when packing up a wet tent.

A single-seam bathtub floor and solution dyeing

The floor is a single-seam bathtub construction with seams kept to a minimum. Fewer stitched sections low down, where water gets in, make the water resistance of OSMO™ easier to use.

OSMO™ is also made with hydrolysis resistance in mind, a material that slows the coating degradation that occurs through long storage and use. The fly and floor use solution-dyed yarn and bluesign® approved fabric.

High doors on both sides and vestibules of 0.8㎡ + 0.8㎡

The 2P has a door and vestibule on each side, 0.8㎡ per side. Two people can come and go without taking turns at the same entry, and each can keep shoes and pack on their own side.

The doors use Gatekeeper™ tiebacks, gathering and holding the open fabric. It is easy to create a wide opening, and the door stays put when you go in and out or reach gear in the vestibule.

Landing Zone™ keeps vestibule gear off the ground

The included Landing Zone™ is a removable waterproof storage tub for the vestibule. Gear you would rather not set straight into mud or wet ground goes on top of it. It can be fitted in either vestibule.

The vestibule itself is a space out of the rain, but the ground can still be wet. Landing Zone™ adds one waterproof layer between that ground and your gear.

A gear loft and storage pockets that free up the floor

Inside are an integrated gear loft and large gear pockets. A phone, glasses, a headlamp and other small items can be spread across the walls and ceiling instead of the floor. Because two people's small items do not need to sit on the same floor, sleeping space is easier to keep.

Putting a headlamp into the Nightlight Pocket™ diffuses the light for use as interior lighting. It turns the light soft with less blue, easing the hard point source of a headlamp hung directly overhead.

Strut vents keep an opening even in rain

Above the zipper flap is a vent whose opening is held by a strut. Even with the fly closed it creates a path for air to leave, letting the moisture generated inside escape. It works with the mesh inner to hold down condensation.

Divvy Cube™ makes it easy to split the load between two

The stuff sack is the rectangular Divvy Cube™. Along with a shape that fits into a backpack, it makes it easier to organize the load when you split the tent body, poles and other parts with a partner. A two-person tent does not have to sit in one person's pack; the packing unit can be adjusted.
