A liner glove that is light and vents well at the same time

The ADRIFT GLOVE is a liner glove made from ultralight Octa®CPCP®. It is designed to move hand perspiration out quickly while holding on to just enough warmth, and it is thin and light enough not to bulk up when layered under an outer glove. It suits hiking and mountain days where you do not want to add weight but do want to fine-tune the temperature at your hands.

Slit construction that lets you use your fingertips without taking them off

Slits are placed beside the fingertips of the thumb, index finger and middle finger, letting you bring your fingertips out quickly only when you need them. Without removing the whole glove you can work buckles, open and close zips, retie knots and handle small pieces of gear. Because you can tuck your fingertips straight back in when you are done, it is also easier to keep exposure time to a minimum.

The light weight, warmth and heat release that Octa®CPCP® provides

The fabric is TEIJIN's Octa®CPCP®. It is a mesh fleece structure in which a mesh face is bonded to brushed hollow polyester fibres with a shaped cross-section that form the insulating layer. The fibres themselves are hollow and eight projections create space around them, so light weight and insulation from dead air come together. Heat and moisture also escape readily through the mesh face, which helps limit clamminess while you are moving. The fabric wicks and dries quickly as well, giving a material balance that is easy to manage as perspiration rises and falls between climbs and descents.

On the environmental side, about 53% of the woolly yarn among the polyester used in Octa®CPCP® has been replaced with recycled polyester (ECOPET®). Compared with the same material made from virgin polyester, CO2 emissions during fabric production are reduced by about 23%. Dyeing uses plant-derived biomass, the textile waste produced during fabric manufacture is recycled, and recycled yarn is used for the labels, so impact is addressed from the material stage onwards.

A soft wrist and easy carrying

The wrist uses a fleece material that feels soft against the skin, giving a gentle finish at the point where pulling them on and off, or contact with a watch or sleeve, is most likely. A loop lets you gather them onto a carabiner to carry, which also makes them less easy to lose when you take them off at a break or at camp. A pair weighs about 25 g in size M. They fit easily into a pocket or accessory pouch, light enough to carry as a matter of course.

Choosing a size

Choose using hand circumference as your reference. It is the measurement right around the palm, taken at the position that passes between the base of the thumb and the base of the index finger. The guide ranges are as follows.

• S: 21–22 cm
• M: 23–24 cm
• L: 25–26 cm

Care and handling

Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hand wash, or wash gently in a laundry net on a delicate or hand-wash cycle. Tumble drying and dry cleaning are not permitted.
