New Autumn/Winter Windshell

This new windshell is designed for autumn and winter mountain running. The main fabric is a softshell that is highly breathable and stretchy, allowing it to stay away from the skin even when sweaty. Even when exposed to cold winds, the fabric resists cold air transfer when in contact with the skin, while its breathability helps prevent overheating. The shoulders, front, and back waistband are made of HPPE (high-performance polyethylene) ripstop fabric, which is windproof and durable. Like the AERO JACKET, it features large pockets on both sides that double as ventilation, a zippered pocket on the right wrist for coins or keys, and a watch window on the left wrist. This windshell is useful not only for mountain running but also for a wide range of autumn and winter situations.

Softshell mapping

The back, excluding the shoulders and waist, is made of soft shell, which helps prevent heat buildup even when carrying a backpack.

front zipper

The zipper has a double slider, so it can be opened from the bottom for ventilation. It is also compatible with climbing harnesses.

Hem specifications

The hem is finished with piping, a simple design that won't get in the way when layering.

Ventilation pocket

The large pockets have mesh linings for ventilation.

Wrist pocket

There is a zippered pocket on the right wrist where you can carry your essentials such as coins, keys, and credit cards.

Watch Window

The left wrist is equipped with a watch window and thumbholes to keep the back of the hand warm and prevent the sleeves from riding up when layering.

HPPE

This thin, lightweight fabric is made from 88% recycled nylon and 12% high-strength polyethylene (HPPE) ripstop. While a tear strength of 10 Newtons (N) is generally considered sufficient for 20 denier fabric, this material achieves a tear strength of over 40N. High-strength polyethylene is extremely difficult to manufacture, and while it was clear that its use could result in high-strength fabrics, commercialization proved extremely difficult. After much trial and error, a domestic material manufacturer perfected "HPPE," and TETON BROS. was one of the first to adopt it and commercialize it.
