A 20L pack that organizes everyday loads and goes straight outdoors
The NEMO Vantage™ 20L Endless Promise® is a 20L model that links work, daily travel and the outdoors in one backpack. A main compartment that divides up finely, a tech compartment for a laptop and tablet, and a large front stash pocket let you separate what you take in and out constantly from what you want protected.
Storage is not the only thing that defines this pack. NEMO's own CERO™ fabric and CCubed™ cushioning bring durability, water resistance, less heat on the back and recyclability at end of life into a single design. The thinking behind the Endless Promise® collection, which gathers most of its components into PET-based materials, is carried into a backpack for everyday use.
CERO™ fabric supports abrasion and water resistance
The body uses CERO™ fabric made from 100% recycled PET. By NEMO's published figures it has up to twice the tear resistance and up to 1.5 times the water resistance of typical pack fabric. PET is used for the inner coating as well as the face fabric, holding down the peeling and tackiness that hydrolysis causes in PU coatings.
The material diagram also shows a 300D x 600D Oxford construction with a PET coating. A backpack carried every day accumulates small loads: set down on floors, knocked against walls, pressed from inside by the corners of your gear. CERO™ is a material given strength and water resistance on the assumption of that repeated use.
CCubed™ cushioning at the back panel and shoulder straps
CCubed™ cushioning is placed at the back panel and shoulder straps. It is a foam alternative made from 100% recycled PET, 97% of its volume being air, giving cushioning while letting sweat and heat escape. Unlike conventional EVA foams, NEMO developed it to avoid harmful offgassing in manufacture and disposal.
It is placed in three dimensions across the surfaces that meet the back and shoulders, working to wick sweat and dry it. Combined with wide, flexible shoulder straps, it secures the area that takes the weight of the load.
A security pocket that keeps valuables against your back
Behind the back panel is a hidden pocket for a passport, cards and similar items. It is hard to see from the outside and can be reached without opening the main compartment, which makes it a place to keep small items you want managed separately while travelling.
Between the back panel and the body there is also a sleeve that slides over a suitcase handle. On journeys where you are not carrying the pack on your back it fixes to a rolling case, making it easy to switch how you carry it.
A chest strap for when you need it
The chest strap is there for when you want to keep the shoulder straps in place while walking or moving. When you do not need it, it stows inside the shoulder strap, and it can also be removed. It makes it easy to switch between town and outdoor use.
A front stash pocket with room to work with
The front carries a stash pocket with real capacity, keeping a jacket or frequently used items separate from the main compartment. Because it fastens with a G-hook, there is no need to work a zipper open and shut, which makes it a good place for things you handle often.
The sides also carry bottle pockets that deploy when needed. They sit flat when unused, adding external storage within a 20L capacity.
A tech compartment that separates laptop and tablet
On the back side is a dedicated compartment with a padded laptop sleeve and a tablet sleeve. Setting the laptop sleeve slightly in from the back rather than straight against it holds down hardness against your back and helps the bag sit steadily when set on the ground.
Because work gear is kept apart from clothing and small items in the main compartment, it stays organized when you want one bag for daily travel and weekend outings.
A main compartment where small items stay findable
The main compartment has a zippered pocket and an organization panel. Charging cables and small items stay out of the bottom under larger loads, and each has a place decided by use. It adds the organization needed without dividing the limited 20L capacity too finely.
Endless Promise®: long use, then back to material
The Vantage™ 20L uses a monopolymer construction, unifying most of its components into PET-based materials. It raises durability and assumes a long life with repair, while making the product easier to collect as material once its life ends. Building the CERO™ fabric and coating and the CCubed™ cushioning around recyclable PET reduces the work of separating different materials.
NEMO's Endless Promise® is not simply about using recycled materials; long use, repair and eventual recycling are all part of the product design. In a backpack used as often as this one, a construction that considers material durability and what happens beyond the product's life is what defines the model.
