A full-body closed-cell mat: lighter mat toughness plus durability
Trail mat 180 is a new sleeping mat series that picks up where the EXP mat left off. Built from 9mm-thick closed-cell polyethylene foam, it carries the moderate firmness of the FP mat, so it resists picking up uneven ground and keeps you sleeping comfortably. It leans toward toughness and comfort over the previous model's all-out lightness, while still holding its weight down to 320g for easy carrying. At 1,800mm long and 500mm wide, it covers your whole body from shoulders to legs.
Where it sits in the series
This mat adds the FP mat's "firmness and durability" to the EXP mat's "lightness." The foam's moderate resilience spreads out body pressure and reduces the effect of bottoming out and small ground irregularities. It still keeps enough lightness to stay practical for walking-focused trips.
A note on sizing
The same series also includes the shorter Trail mat 100, but this page is for the full-body Trail mat 180.
