NEMO's Switchback is a breath of fresh air in the world of closed-cell foam mats, which have remained largely unchanged for many years. This innovative mat combines a unique hexagonal pattern with two layers of foam material with different hardness to achieve comfort and compactness that sets it apart from other mats. It's comfortable to sleep as if you're wrapped in it, and it's surprisingly easy to carry. It takes a night's rest on any field to a new level.

The back side, which has a heat insulating film welded to it, blocks cold air from the ground while efficiently reflecting heat emitted from the body. In addition, the foam, which has a unique hexagonal shape and firmness, can store plenty of warm air between the body and the mat, securing approximately 20% more space than other general mats. This makes it less likely for you to feel cold and allows you to sleep comfortably.

The Switchback also excels in compactness when stored. Its unique pattern minimizes the gaps that form when folded, making it thick when in use and compact when stored.

This lightweight pad with excellent cushioning and heat retention is ideal for a variety of situations, including mountain climbing, long distance hiking, camping, and as a cushion when watching sports or at festivals.

NEMO's unique hexagonal comfort zones provide the ultimate in comfort. The comfort zones are connected in a spider web pattern to increase overall rigidity and reduce bottoming out from the ground.

Innovative design with minimal waste

Typical closed cell foam mats have a uniform, uneven design like an egg carton, so when folded they appear to fit snugly, but in reality there is wasted space between the mats. Switchback, on the other hand, uses a unique pattern that appears irregular at first glance, eliminating this wasted space to the maximum extent possible. It is thicker than other mats when in use, but is designed to fit more compactly than other mats when stored.

Metallized film for improved thermal insulation

The back side is made of a film that blocks cold air from the ground and reflects body heat upward. In addition, the height of the bumps on the Switchback is designed to be higher than other mats, so the reflected heat stays in that space, effectively keeping you warm. In addition, a transparent protective layer has been added to the film to improve the durability of the metallized film.

Two different foam layers for improved comfort

The Switchback uses a two-layer structure that combines high-quality foams of different densities to enhance cushioning and durability and provide the ultimate sleeping comfort. The upper layer uses a firm (high density) foam to ensure stability and durability while firmly supporting the body weight. Meanwhile, the lower layer is made of soft (low density) foam, which provides a comfortable sleeping experience by allowing moderate sinking. This design combines durability and comfort.
