A lightweight trigger-finger insulated glove built for a secure grip in winter terrain
The MOUNTAIN TRIGER GLOVE is a trigger-finger insulated glove designed for situations that call for an ice axe or trekking poles, from winter approaches to peak bagging and easy variation routes. It's built to be layered over a thin inner glove, making it easier to balance warmth with dexterity.
Trigger design: the index finger stands alone
The independent index finger keeps fingertip contact stable when gripping an ice axe or pole, and makes small tasks easier without taking the glove off. Only the index fingertip responds to touchscreens, so you can handle simple operations like checking a notification without removing the glove. The other fingertips are not touchscreen-compatible.
Shell: Dyneema ripstop with a DWR finish
The outer fabric is a DWR-treated Dyneema ripstop. The ripstop structure, woven with polyethylene fiber, supports the fabric's strength and protects the glove from abrasion during use. The surface finish repels snow and water droplets, helping to limit moisture buildup while moving.
Lining: Octa® CPCP® for lightness, quick-dry performance and heat retention
The lining uses TEIJIN's Octa® CPCP®. Built from two fiber types—hollow, irregular cross-section polyester and woolly fiber—it's about half the weight of a standard polyester fiber of the same diameter, absorbs sweat and dries quickly, and traps dead air in the fiber's hollow core and eight protrusions to boost heat retention. This material is normally used as a lining, but STATIC also uses it as a standalone fleece in other products.
Details built for durability and portability
The palm reinforcement is stitched with Kevlar® thread to improve durability in high-wear areas. A carabiner loop is also included, so the gloves can be clipped quickly to a harness or pack during breaks or when switching activities.
Choosing your size and fit
The fit assumes you'll layer a thin inner glove underneath. Worn bare-handed, the fit runs roomy—you can keep that extra room or size down for a closer fit. Available in sizes S, M and L, in Graphite and Steel.
Care
Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hand wash, or use a laundry net on a delicates/hand-wash cycle. Do not tumble dry or dry clean.
Materials and sustainability
53.6% of the woolly yarn has been replaced with recycled polyester (ECOPET®), cutting CO2 emissions during fabric production by 23% compared with virgin material (calculated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd.).
