A breathable, wind-resistant wind hoody built for fall/winter mountain running
The HPPE Wind Hoody is a wind shell for fall and winter mountain running in cold wind. The main fabric is a highly breathable, stretch soft shell that stays comfortable against the skin even when you sweat, helping to hold off both chill and overheating on the move. At 295g in a Medium, it also keeps things light for carrying and layering.
HPPE ripstop where the wind hits, soft shell where you need motion and breathability
The shoulders, front body, and back waist use a ripstop fabric blended with HPPE (High Performance Polyethylene), prized for wind resistance and durability, firmly guarding the areas that take the brunt of the wind and a backpack's load. The rest of the garment is a breathable soft shell, balanced to vent heat in the higher-output zones of movement.
Details that help regulate body temperature on the move
The front offers a lot of adjustment freedom, easy to operate while running. Large pockets sit on both sides, and the wrists gather the features runners use most: a zip pocket on the right wrist for coins or keys, and a watch window on the left wrist so you can check your device without pulling back a sleeve. The hem is finished with piping, kept simple so it doesn't get in the way when layering with a mid or base layer.
Materials and performance
The combination of HPPE Ultra Hard Ripstop Nylon and a breathable soft shell balances wind resistance, breathability, and stretch. The face fabric has a C0 water-repellent finish that sheds light rain or mist, handling the small shifts in weather you meet on the move.
