STATIC's ADRIFT PANTS use TEIJIN Octa®CPCP® as a single layer of fabric rather than as a lining—a lightweight, warm pant. The brushed interior holds in warmth, and at about 140g in size M, it's light enough to carry easily. It's built to work both for staying warm on breaks and as indoor wear in a tent or mountain hut.
Material: what Octa®CPCP® does and where it fits
Octa®CPCP® is a functional fabric that's about half the weight of a standard polyester fiber of the same diameter, while offering quick-dry performance and heat retention. It spreads out sweat so it dries fast, making it easy to layer without feeling the chill after you stop moving. Built on the same material philosophy as the jacket, it works as a highly packable warm layer for your legs too—light, yet warm.
Design updates and details
- Roomier below the knee: the silhouette below the knee has more room than the previous model, making it easier to put on, take off and adjust for temperature.
- Binder-tape hems: easy to roll up, which also helps when regulating temperature or working near water.
- Hand-warmer pockets: the pocket bags are brushed on both sides, so your hands feel warm when you tuck them in.
- A subtle brand name: placed low on the back, where it stays out of sight.
- Fit: relaxed: a roomy silhouette throughout, suited to layering and wearing indoors.
Where it works, and a note of caution
Thanks to the balance of light weight and ample warmth, it's an easy piece to reach for year-round as a packable warm layer. It also comes with hand pockets so it stays comfortable as indoor wear in a tent or mountain hut. Note that it's prone to snagging when bushwhacking, so it's best to avoid wearing it on routes with a lot of abrasion or sharp branches, or to layer a sturdier pant over it.
Sustainability and fabric production
- A higher recycled ratio: 53.6% of the woolly yarn has been replaced with recycled polyester ECOPET®, cutting CO2 emissions during fabric production by 23% (calculated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd.).
- Made with fabric produced at an OEKO-TEX®-certified domestic factory.
- Fiber/fabric origin, dyeing and manufacturing are all in Japan, with attention to quality control and traceability.
Care
Do not use fabric softener or bleach. Hand wash, or use a laundry net on a delicates/hand-wash cycle. Do not tumble dry or dry clean. Line dry out of direct sunlight.
