STATIC's first full-zip. A hoodless, layer-friendly single-layer fleece

The ADRIFT JACKET is STATIC's first full-zip jacket. Its minimal, hoodless design lets you put it on, take it off and layer it quickly. Instead of pairing a lining with a shell, it uses TEIJIN Octa®CPCP® as a single layer of fabric. At just 185g in size M, it's light enough to carry easily, and strikes a balance that works year-round—from regulating body heat on the move to staying warm at rest.

Why Octa®CPCP® is used as a single layer

Octa®CPCP® is defined by a mesh structure woven from a special polyester fiber with a hollow core and eight protrusions. The fiber itself is about half the weight of standard polyester of the same diameter, and the dead air trapped in its hollow spaces gives it heat-retaining properties. It also absorbs sweat and dries quickly, even when wet. It's usually laminated to a nylon shell, which adds weight and bulk, but the ADRIFT JACKET deliberately uses a single layer instead. That choice prioritizes lightness and portability while still drawing out strong warmth relative to its weight. It's lighter than a fleece of roughly 300g, generally considered lightweight, and the practical benefit is that it packs easily into any gap in a backpack.

Built for on-the-move temperature control

  • Center zipper: a YKK Vislon two-way zipper that opens from either end, letting you release a lot of air when you're generating heat, such as on a reascent, with fine ventilation control.
  • Cuffs: fitted with thumbholes. Slip your thumb through to cover the back of your hand and keep the sleeves from riding up.
  • Pockets: zipperless open pockets on both sides at the waist. Easy to slide a hand into, and kept light with minimal interference.

A relaxed fit built for layering

The fit is relaxed. It's easy to throw on over a base layer, with enough room to fit under a thin shell as well. With no hood, there's less bulk around the neck, and the full zip lets you fine-tune how much heat you release from your core. It's an easy choice if you want one piece that can work as both an active layer and a packable warm layer.

Sustainability and material background

53.6% of the woolly yarn has been replaced with recycled polyester (ECOPET®), cutting CO2 emissions during fabric production by 23% compared with virgin material (calculated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd.). The fabric is produced at an OEKO-TEX®-certified factory. The dyeing process uses biomass (plant-derived) sources rather than petroleum, reducing the environmental impact at the manufacturing stage.

Care and handling notes

  • Do not use fabric softener or bleach.
  • Hand wash, or use a laundry net on a delicates/hand-wash cycle.
  • Do not tumble dry or dry clean.
  • The special mesh structure is prone to snagging on sharp branches and the like. When bushwhacking, consider layering a shell over it.
