A long sleeve that keeps the softness of 70% wool while standing up to abrasion
The STATIC FORGE WOOL L/S is a wool long sleeve built for the rubbing that comes again and again from a pack or from rock, with abrasion resistance raised to meet it. The fabric is 70% merino wool and 30% nylon. It keeps the feel of a wool-led garment while carrying durability you can use hard.
Behind that abrasion resistance is a spun yarn called Titan Spun. A wool yarn sits at the core, with two ultrafine nylon yarns wound around the outside at even intervals. Rather than raising the share of nylon, the wool stays at 70% and the fabric still resists rubbing.
Abrasion resistance built with Titan Spun
Wool garments take load in the mountains: friction from the shoulder harness and back panel of a pack, contact with rock. FORGE WOOL raises the resistance to that friction at the level of the yarn.
With Titan Spun, ultrafine nylon yarns support the core wool yarn from the outside, so durability comes without giving up the softness of merino. It is a fabric built for comfort and for repeated use.
Durability proven against coarse granite and heavy packs
The durability was tested in real climbing and hiking. Inside an offwidth, a crack in the rock wide enough for the body, rubbing repeatedly against coarse-grained granite, no visible major damage appeared.
Carrying a pack over 10kg on hikes with heavy sweating, no pilling occurred and no change in shape showed either. With repeated use it will not stay exactly as new, but the wool stays at 70% and the abrasion resistance for long days in the mountains has been proven.
A slightly slim athletic fit
A slightly slim athletic fit that follows the body. Rather than a silhouette with generous room, it is shaped so the fabric does not gather while you move for hiking or climbing. Size M weighs 190g.
Recycled material in the trims as well
Recycled material is used for the woven labels and the care labels. Cutting waste from production goes to a recycler rather than incineration, and garments are delivered wrapped in thin paper rather than individually bagged in plastic. It is not only the garment itself but the materials and packaging around it that have been reconsidered.
