ALTRA TIMP 6 Women's

30mm EGO™ MAX and Megagrip, for trails where you spend a long time running

The ALTRA TIMP 6 Women's is a trail shoe that pairs Altra EGO™ MAX at a 30mm stack height with Vibram® Megagrip. Building on a 0mm drop, Standard FootShape™ and GaiterTrap™ compatibility, it updates the upper material and the fit on entry.

The uses ALTRA lists are trail running, long trail running and hiking. Beyond cushioning, it is set up so that outsole grip and midfoot hold stay usable through outings where wet rock, boardwalk, dry dirt and broken ground follow one after another.

30mm of Altra EGO™ MAX

The midsole uses Altra EGO™ MAX. At a stack height of 30mm it keeps enough foam to absorb the impact reaching the sole of the foot, without putting the foot at an excessively high position.

The height difference between heel and forefoot is 0mm. The same thickness of cushioning is placed front and back, keeping ALTRA's Balanced Cushioning not only on flat ground but on trails where climbs and descents repeat.

Vibram® Megagrip across the whole trail

The outsole uses Vibram® Megagrip. It is a rubber made to find friction on both wet and dry surfaces, holding grip on courses where rock, boardwalk and dirt keep switching.

On the TIMP 6 the traction layout of the outsole has been revised so the rubber is easier to use from footstrike through toe-off. It is the element that supports contact underfoot even as pace and stride change over a long day.

Soft Rolled Mesh at 85% RPET

The upper has been updated to Soft Rolled Mesh, with 85% of the material being RPET. It gives a soft feel against the foot and breathability, and works to stop the fabric from pressing hard into the foot every time the forefoot bends.

The overlays have also been repositioned, reinforcing protection where the shoe touches rock and roots. Breathability through the mesh is kept while durability is added only where it is needed.

Room on entry together with midfoot hold

The fit structure keeps the sense of the instep and midfoot being held while adjusting the internal volume of the shoe. It reduces tightness right after the foot goes in, and eases the stress of the upper pressing into the foot through flex.

The FootShape™ is Standard, leaving space for the toes to move while keeping the midfoot tidy. It is a shape that leaves room at the front even when the foot swells after a long time on the move.

GaiterTrap™ adds a way to keep debris out

The heel carries GaiterTrap™. Compatible gaiters attach directly to the shoe, keeping sand, grit and mud from entering over the collar without running a strap under the sole.

Grip and fit combined with a 30mm cushion

The TIMP 6 combines 30mm of EGO™ MAX with contact from Megagrip and hold from Standard FootShape™. Cushion, outsole and upper each take a role and support the foot over long hours on trail.
