Patagonia's Capilene Cool Daily Shirt is a short-sleeve technical tee that works across hot-season hiking, trail running and activities in and around water.
It moves sweat into the fabric quickly and dries fast, while the surface stays silky to the touch. It doesn't read as overtly athletic, so it carries from a day of real effort in the mountains through to everyday wear. That balance is what defines Capilene Cool Daily.
This model carries the "Great Waves" graphic. It shares the same base fabric and functionality as the solid-color Capilene Cool Daily, with a design that stands on its own worn alone.
A base layer for days you sweat
The fabric is a 3.7-oz 100% polyester jersey, 50% of which is recycled polyester.
It wicks moisture into the fabric to speed drying, handling hot climbs and high-output activities. At 128 g it is light enough to fold easily into summer hiking and trail running as an active layer.
The fabric is built for use both in and out of the water, so it also suits activities that involve streams, rivers and the sea.
Smooth hand and stretch together
One of the defining qualities of Capilene Cool Daily is its silky feel against the skin.
The fabric itself stretches, and combined with set-in sleeves it handles raising your arms and moving through a full range of motion. Beyond hiking and running, it pairs well with activities involving broad movement, such as climbing.
Minimal seams, for long days on the move
Seams are kept to a minimum to reduce friction where fabric meets skin.
Walking for hours under a pack, or moving while soaked in sweat, seam placement and next-to-skin feel become part of comfort. Capilene Cool Daily keeps its construction simple with that kind of extended wear in mind.
HeiQ Mint odor control
The fabric is treated with HeiQ Mint odor control, intended to slow the development of the odor that tends to build up during sweaty activity.
That makes it practical for day trips, and for travel or mountain days where you want to carry fewer changes of clothing.
