The Roadie 8 is the smallest model among YETI's hard coolers. It combines a sturdy rotomolded body and thick insulation in a size that can be carried with one hand.
The handle is a hard plastic SmallHaul™ handle, allowing you to lift it with one hand while the lid is closed. The lid latch is a single, larger one, unlike the two on the higher-end Roadie 15 and 24. This allows for one-handed opening and closing. There are tie-down slots on both sides of the handle, so you can secure it with a belt to a golf cart, motorcycle, SUP, or other vehicle for transport.
This cooler prioritizes robustness and insulation, making it suitable for sitting on, rather than portability like a soft cooler. The lid is not waterproof (leakproof), so it is not suitable for tipping on its side or carrying when the ice has melted.
