M1 Women's | An all-mountain trail running shoe built for women, aimed at 100+ milers

Mount to Coast's women's M1 is an all-mountain trail running shoe developed over 18 months for ultra-distance trail races beyond 100 miles (roughly 160km). It pairs a thick stack and high-rebound midsole with terrain-agnostic grip and a fit system built to adapt over long hours, aiming for a stable ride even in technical conditions.

JETCELL™ midsole rebound and durability

The midsole uses our proprietary JETCELL™ material. It applies supercritical foaming technology to automotive-grade, highly durable materials, delivering the brand's highest-ever energy return. It carries a published figure of twice the structural strength compared with standard PEBA foam, supporting a stable ride even under the repeated compression and rebound of long distances. This refers to a structural strength comparison of the foam, not a claim that usable lifespan is doubled. The rebound makes it easier to build a rhythm, helping you hold your tempo through long descents or flat stretches.

TPEE-blend upper for breathability, quick-dry and shape retention

The upper is made from TPEE (polyester-based thermoplastic elastomer) blended yarns. Alongside durability and stability, it balances quick-dry performance and breathability to handle sweat and changing weather on the move. A reinforced toe box protects your toes on terrain thick with rocks and roots, and the upper is designed to hold its shape even when feet tend to swell over long hours of running.

TUNEDFIT™ dual lacing adjusts forefoot and midfoot independently

The TUNEDFIT™ dual lacing system lets you optimize the fit of the forefoot and midfoot independently. It's easy to quickly fine-tune the fit to temperature, terrain or how your feet feel — locking down the midfoot to reduce forward slide on descents, or easing pressure on the forefoot on climbs or long flats. This fine-tuning is a strength for handling the changes your feet go through during a long race.

Combined grip from Vibram® Megagrip, Litebase and Traction Lug

The outsole brings together three Vibram® technologies. Megagrip, known for strong grip across varied terrain, is used as the base compound across the full surface. Litebase thins the sole base material to cut roughly 30% of the weight while maintaining performance, contributing to a lighter foot turnover. Traction Lug is also combined in, raising friction with micro-features on the lug surface to boost grip by up to 25% depending on conditions. It's a build that offers confident ground contact on technical terrain like wet rock, packed dirt and loose scree.

Balancing a thick stack with a 4mm drop

Stack height is 38mm/34mm with a 4mm drop. The generous thickness softens impact from the ground, while this front-to-back difference helps keep your landing stable. The design aims to reduce impact on long descents while maintaining rhythm on flat sections, targeting a form that holds up even late into an ultra-distance race.

Proven on the course

  • Triple Crown of 200s (2025): Manu Vilaseca broke the women's record by over 29 hours wearing early prototypes.
  • Western States 100 (June 2026): Canyon Woodward finished in 14:45, 8th place.
  • Tor des Géants (September 2026, 336.1km, 24,000m+ of elevation gain): Vilaseca placed 3rd in 82:31.

These results reflect the athletes' own race performances and are not a guarantee of product performance.
