Airflow and skin separation that let you keep moving — the HERENESS wool mesh tee

The WOOL MESH T-SHIRT (UNISEX) is an active wool tee built from an original mesh fabric that combines merino wool with recycled polyester, made to stay comfortable even when you are sweating heavily. Merino's moisture regulation and odour resistance are joined by polyester's fast drying and strength, while the lightweight mesh structure lifts the fabric off the skin and lets air through. It is designed for activities with heavy loads and changing conditions, such as hiking and trail running.

Fabric and material design

The fabric is 51% merino wool and 49% polyester — an original fabric using recycled polyester. The merino absorbs and releases water vapour from sweat and holds odour down. The polyester handles drying speed and fabric strength. Knitting the fabric itself as a mesh secures airflow, so the cloth resists clinging to the skin even right after you sweat.

Three elements behind comfort on the move

• Moisture regulation (wool): absorbs and releases moisture as you sweat and as conditions change, helping hold down clamminess
• Fast drying (polyester): dries quickly even when wet with sweat, so you are less likely to have to stop
• Skin separation (mesh): the fabric sits away from the skin, so it feels less clingy and sticky

Under high-intensity effort an ordinary wool tee can saturate with sweat and stick to the body. This mesh fabric is aimed at resisting that even in those conditions. HERENESS pursued a balance capable of handling long activities with sharp changes in conditions — ultra trail racing, for example.

Balancing odour resistance and durability

The antibacterial, odour-resisting properties of merino wool stay intact while the polyester adds fabric strength. From day trips to consecutive days out, it is designed so that odour does not linger and the garment stays easy to live with.

The sustainability background

HERENESS was drawn to the performance of NIKKE AXIO and kept asking for a recycled-polyester version. With NIKKE's cooperation, a recycled filament was realised and is used in this fabric. The wool is New Zealand merino; that country has banned mulesing (the removal of skin from the sheep's hindquarters).

Care

• Given the nature of the material, slight shrinkage and pilling may occur
• Use a laundry net when machine washing
• Do not tumble dry
• Do not use chlorine or oxygen bleach

Choosing a size

As a reference: a 180 cm wearer in size M, a 170 cm wearer in size S. This will shift with your build and how you like a garment to fit. Please refer to the size chart below. Measurements are taken with the garment laid flat, and slight differences between the labelled size and the actual garment may occur.
