RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR products are not meant to be used separately for daily life and mountain activities, but as a single "lifestyle tool." This idea is reflected in all of our products. One Mile MP is one of them.
The main body has a capacity of about 14 liters, the front pocket has a capacity of about 2 liters, and the total capacity of 16 liters is compact yet boasts an amazing storage capacity. This makes it just right for a variety of situations, from everyday shopping to hiking and even short trips.

The design is simple. While eliminating unnecessary elements, the fine details support ease of use. Made of lightweight and durable materials, it can withstand sudden rain and mud splashes. It also has a design that reduces the burden on your shoulders, so you can carry it comfortably for a long time.

The main body has a capacity of approximately 14 liters and the front pocket has a capacity of approximately 2 liters, for a total of 16 liters.
The plastic parts at the opening of the pocket come out with two types of parts: a tape tab and a rubber cord.
To widen the pocket opening, pull the "tape tab".
When closing the pocket, hold down the "tape tab" with one hand and pull the "elastic cord". When doing this, be careful not to pull the elastic cord too tight when closing the pocket.
The side pockets are made of flexible and durable 100% nylon mesh material.
It is large enough to hold two standard 500ml plastic bottles. The opening of the pocket can be adjusted with an elastic cord.
There is a hand strap on the top of the main unit.
Shoulder Strap
The shoulder straps, which are the key element of the backpack, are made with 420D ROBIC® Ripstop Nylon outer fabric.
420D ROBIC® combines basic square grid ripstop with ultra-strong, high tenacity ROBIC® nylon 6.
The front side of the fabric is treated with DWR (durable water repellent). The back side of the fabric is treated with a proprietary backside coating called UTS (Ultra Tear Strength). Unlike traditional PU coatings, UTS has improved tear strength and excellent hydrolysis resistance, making it less susceptible to hydrolysis even in humid environmental conditions.
The core material is 10mm thick EVA foam, which has excellent resilience, elasticity, and weather resistance. We have adopted a "sticky" core material to minimize the burden on the shoulders even when carrying a relatively heavy weight.
The back of the shoulder straps and the back of the bag are made of double russell mesh, which improves breathability and reduces stickiness caused by sweat.
There is tape running across the top of the shoulder straps. As shown in the image above, this helps prevent the hose from moving around when using a hydration system.
There are no holes or slits for hoses, so please use a zipper to pass the hose through.
The front pocket is equipped with a durable 3mm bungee cord.
As shown in the image above, it can be used to hold down a helmet, towels, shirts you have taken off, wind shells, and other light clothing.
*When securing your helmet, avoid using only the bungee cord. Instead, make sure to properly pass the helmet strap through the upper hand strap part of One Mile.
When equipped with an ice axe.
When attaching your ice axe, make sure to pass it correctly through the ice axe holder tape at the bottom of the backpack.
To prevent the blade from swinging, be sure to use a bungee cord to secure it to your backpack.
The top is equipped with a durable 3mm diameter rubber cord and a plastic hook adjuster for securing ice axes and trekking poles.
Hook the rubber cord securely onto the hook-shaped part of the plastic part, then pull the end of the rubber cord to secure the ice axe or trekking pole.
Comes with a removable waist belt.
I don't think you'll need to use this waist belt for everyday use or normal hiking.
When wearing this backpack while running or in other situations that cause the backpack to sway violently from side to side, we recommend using a waist belt to prevent the backpack from swaying.
There are two small pockets inside the backpack.
There is a small pocket with a key hook tape at the top front for storing small items.
There is a pocket on the back side where you can store a PC or hydration system.
It is large enough to store a 13-inch or 14-inch MacBook. It is designed so that the tip sticks out a little to make it easier to take out. The pocket does not extend to the bottom so that the PC is not directly exposed to shocks even if it is left inside.
The material used is 210D ROBIC® Ripstop Nylon.
The inside of the back is fitted with a 7mm thick EVA foam back pad, made from the same material as the inside of the shoulder pads.
This back pad is removable, so you can also use it as a cushion under your bottom when taking a break at a tent site, etc.
Fitting
We would like to inform you about the correct positioning for wearing the One Mile MP.
Although this is not unique to the One Mile MP, we recommend carrying the backpack with the center of gravity as high up as possible.
As shown in the image above, adjust the shoulder strap tape so that the top of the backpack is exactly at shoulder level or slightly below shoulder level. Your back and the back of the backpack will fit snugly together.
If the shoulder straps feel too tight, loosen them and adjust them, being careful not to drop the backpack too low.
We do not recommend wearing the backpack so that the top of it is significantly lower than your shoulder line, as shown in the image above. The load will feel heavy, and if the load in the backpack is heavy, your upper body will feel pulled backwards, which can lead to loss of balance. There will also be a gap between your back and the back of the backpack, which can cause the backpack to swing.
Make sure to fasten the chest strap properly and buckle it in place.
The chest strap distributes the weight evenly across your chest and prevents the backpack from falling off your body in the event of a fall.
The chest strap buckle also doubles as an emergency whistle, so it can be used to call for help in an emergency.
