The SWITCH XL is a utility bag that switches between four carry styles: chest bag, shoulder bag, waist bag, and a backpack side pocket. Its structure lets you keep what you need close at hand and quickly change how you carry it as conditions change, keeping access easy without breaking your pace on the trail. Capacity is about 3.2L. It balances main-compartment storage with easy small-item organization, covering a wide range of needs from day hikes to overnight trips.

Storage designed for easy access on the move

The MAIN ROOM is sized to fit a 500ml PET bottle lying on its side, leaving room alongside it for snacks and small gear. Inside are two organizer pockets, one large and one small, for keeping batteries, a compass, lens caps, and other small items from getting lost in the bag.

The TOP POCKET has gusseted depth, so even a bulky wallet fits smoothly. An internal key fob keeps your keys securely clipped in place.

The BACK POCKET sits against your body and is built for quickly slipping in a smartphone or a ticket, letting you stash and retrieve items on the go.

4 ways to carry it, and what each one gives you

CHEST BAG

Worn on the chest during activity, it distributes part of the load toward your pack and eases the strain on your shoulders. ZENN, ALK, and BUDDY all have O-rings, so simply clipping the main hook onto them turns it into a chest bag. With it on your chest, your map, smartphone, and snacks are all quick to reach.

SHOULDER BAG

Attach the included strap and it becomes a standalone shoulder bag. At a campsite or mountain hut, you can move around carrying only your valuables and the bare essentials. It's also an easy way to carry your gear on the way from the mountain back into town.

WAIST BAG

Adjust the length of the shoulder strap and wrap it around your waist to use it as a waist bag. It sits closer to your body, making it easier to carry steadily while walking.

SIDE POCKET

Thread your pack's waist belt through the rear slit and it functions as a side pocket on your pack, which is handy when you want to consolidate some of your gear onto the pack itself.

The mechanism behind quick switching, and the core of its feel

What makes SWITCH XL's quick switching possible is its original aluminum hook. It combines a large opening that's easy to operate even with gloves on with a slim profile that attaches almost anywhere. This does away with the need for a dedicated attachment, giving the freedom to mount it directly in various positions on various packs.

The body uses a zipper closure, designed to be easy to use whether oriented vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. It's sized around gear actually used on the mountain and kept to a simple form that avoids unnecessary bulk. The result is a bag that's easy to handle while walking and quick to switch between carry styles as the situation calls for it.

Development background

What PAAGO WORKS has consistently valued is the idea that "what you need during activity should be where it belongs." To take the design philosophy honed with PATHFINDER and SWING a step further, development of the SWITCH series began by doing away with the conventional attachment belt used to mount a bag to a pack. While searching for a mechanism that could attach anywhere and be put on and taken off easily, the team connected with a small Korean parts maker made up of a designer and an engineer, and their vision aligned. Working together closely enough to be nicknamed "the fun crew" in-house, they shaped the current mechanism built around the aluminum hook.

About the PC color specification

The PC Light Gray and PC Black colors we carry use a water-resistant zipper. Because of this water-resistant zipper specification, they are not fitted with a flap. Opening and closing is direct, reducing the steps needed when switching carry styles.

Size, weight, and material

Capacity is 3.2L, with dimensions of 185 x 280 x 100mm. Weight is 160g for both colors we carry. The main material is PC-coated nylon, balancing light weight and easy handling with the durability to withstand repeated use on the mountain. With the included shoulder strap, you can start using it as a shoulder bag straight out of the package.
