As the name suggests, this piece is based on the motif of ptarmigan and nutcracker.
The rock ptarmigan is a special natural monument and endangered species that can only be found on high mountains above 2,000 meters.
The common cranes are a type of crow that live in alpine forests and were named after the white spots all over their bodies that resemble a starry sky.
Two species of birds that can only be seen in high mountains and a Japanese stone pine are depicted on this tenugui.
