This is an eco-friendly three-layer fabric that uses yarn (recycled polyester) that is left over from factories waiting to be discarded, and creates space by connecting the mesh structures on the front and back with thread.
While providing warmth and allowing heat to escape, the fabric itself is not brushed, which has the added benefit of minimizing the emission of microplastics.
"ByeHello" Project
STATIC runs a recycling program called "ByeHello" where we collect polyester product scraps and used products, spin them into recycled polyester yarn, and deliver new products.
Products that are eligible for this program have the words "Regenerate me!" on the care label.
Minimizing waste generation, incinerating it, and recycling raw materials are all part of STATIC's approach to sustainable outdoor products.
The importance of using recycled materials
In the "life cycle of clothing," from sourcing the raw materials to discarding the garment after wearing, the process that produces the most CO2 emissions is the raw materials procurement process, which accounts for approximately 50% of the total. In other words, reducing the CO2 emissions during raw materials procurement will greatly reduce the environmental impact of the "life cycle of clothing." In the case of pre-consumer recycled nylon (*), there are examples where CO2 emissions have been reduced by as much as 75%, so we believe that using recycled materials as much as possible and choosing and wearing such clothing is an important action.
*Pre-consumer recycled nylon:
This is a product made by recycling nylon cotton waste generated during the manufacture of nylon yarn, which was previously incinerated, into nylon yarn and fabric.
