A minimalist, seamless sunglasses case
The opportunity to create this product came when I came across the products of Utax Co., Ltd. At the exhibition, Utax's seamless, minimalist innerwear was on display, and I was strongly attracted to its unique design and manufacturing method. I began to wonder if I could create a new product using the seamless technology.
Previously, RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR's product lineup included a sunglasses case made of neoprene, but it is no longer in production. Therefore, we wanted to add a sunglasses case to our lineup again. So, we came up with the idea of using Utax's seamless technology to create a new sunglasses case.
Based on the concept of "Let's make a sunglasses case as simple as possible," we worked with Yutax to consider the design and manufacturing method. We created a sunglasses case that combines functionality with a simple form created using seamless technology. We also paid special attention to the selection of materials, and achieved a product that is both durable and lightweight, making it suitable for everyday use.
This case was created through a collaboration between RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR and Utax Co., Ltd. It is simple, yet has been carefully crafted down to the smallest detail. Please give it a try.
Material
There are two types of materials used in this product.
The front and back fabrics in the image above are made of a fabric that is also used for innerwear and does not fray even when cut. It is a very smooth material that is resistant to scratches on sunglasses lenses, etc.
The core is made of polyurethane material, which acts to give the product shape and cushioning.
*The material is cut, so the edges may fray little by little after some use. If this bothers you, you can cut it with scissors or lightly heat it with a lighter.

The areas shown in orange in the image above have been welded using the special technology of Yutax Co., Ltd.
It is characterized by a semicircular welded area near the center.
The image above shows sunglasses stored in the case with the opening facing down. The semicircular welded part gently catches the sunglasses stored in the case, so they won't fall off easily even if the opening is facing down.

Attention
・Please avoid washing. If it gets dirty, wipe it off with a cloth soaked in water with a diluted neutral detergent.
・Please be careful not to bring it close to the Velcro (hook and loop fastener) as it can easily get caught on it.
