A layering-friendly cardigan that balances lightness and loft
ROAR CARDIGAN is knit from AYUKAN, STATIC's own twisted yarn made of 50% merino wool and 50% polyester. The relaxed fit layers easily over a base layer, and snap buttons let you open or close the front quickly to adjust to your activity or the room temperature.
AYUKAN, the original yarn: Octa® lightness × brushed wool warmth
AYUKAN is a specialty twisted yarn made by twisting wool yarn around Octa®, a hollow polyester insulation yarn, then brushing only the wool side to raise its nap. The hollow Octa® core keeps the yarn light and quick-drying, while the brushed wool traps air for loft and warmth. It draws on Japan's specialty twisted-yarn craftsmanship, which fine-tunes the twist count to balance hand-feel and performance.
How it's knit and constructed
Because knitwear is shaped directly on the machine, it tends to produce less material waste than garments cut from large panels of fabric. Knitting a single whole-garment piece this way leaves only about 6g of yarn waste, a loss rate under 5%. Because this design has a more complex structure, the knitted panels are joined by linking rather than sewn as one piece — a method that keeps the natural stretch and feel of knitwear while still shaping it where needed.
Fit and everyday use
The relaxed fit has room to spare, so it layers over a thin base layer without feeling tight. The snap buttons make it easy to open the front for ventilation or close it to hold in warmth, adjusting on the fly as conditions change.

- Do not use fabric softener or bleach
- Hand wash, or use a laundry net on a delicates/hand-wash machine cycle
- Being a knit, take care around branches, velcro, and other snag hazards
