The patagonia Men's Houdini Jacket is a lightweight shell built from 1.2-oz 100% recycled nylon ripstop. It weighs 105g. The fabric carries a DWR (durable water repellent) finish made without intentionally added PFAS, so it sheds light moisture. The fit is slim, and the full-zip design gives you adjustment at the hood, the cuffs and the hem.
The zippered chest pocket doubles as a stuff pocket for the jacket itself, and a reinforced carabiner loop is built in. When you are not wearing it, the jacket packs down small. The hood adjusts with a single pull and is shaped to stay clear of your peripheral vision. The hem is cut longer at the back as a drop tail, so the fit holds while you move.
Key features
The shell fabric is an ultralight 1.2-oz 100% recycled nylon ripstop. A DWR finish made without intentionally added PFAS sheds light moisture. This is not rainwear: it collects the functions a lightweight shell needs.
The zippered chest pocket is both storage and the stuff sack that holds the jacket. A reinforced carabiner loop stays usable once the jacket is stuffed, so it is easy to handle in its packed state.
The fit is slim. The hem uses a drop-tail design, with different front and back lengths to hold the fit during activity. The hood adjusts with a single pull, sitting close to the head while staying clear of your peripheral vision.
The cuffs are partly elasticated and the hem has a drawcord. To keep cold air from entering at the cuffs and hem, you can tune the fit to how you are wearing it. Together with the single-pull hood, that lets you adjust each part from the neck down to the hem.
A reflective P-6 logo sits on the left chest. Without adding more functions than a lightweight shell needs, storage, hood adjustment and cuff and hem adjustment are all held within 105g.
The hood, cuffs and hem each adjust in a different way: a single pull at the hood, partial stretch at the cuffs, a drawcord at the hem. The method is separated by where it is needed.
Made in Vietnam. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, tumble dry low. Do not bleach and do not iron.
