On hot summer days when sweat is dripping down your neck, wrapping a towel around your neck is a great way to feel at ease. Sweat trickling down the back of your head. Sweat slowly rising on your forehead. Wrapping a towel around your neck is the most effective way to deal with that kind of sweat.

Our goal was to create a product that was somewhere between a tenugui and a towel. We aimed to create a towel that was as thin as possible while still being highly absorbent.

I myself almost never use tenugui towels to wipe away sweat because I don't really like how sticky they feel when they absorb moisture.

But to be honest, I am envious of the product called "tenugui." I am attracted to its high level of perfection as a product, its history, and its convenience. I am jealous of the fact that it is a product that is loved by hikers.
It may be a bit of an exaggeration to say that we want to get back at tenugui, but this towel was born from that idea.

Please try it as your new companion to beat the summer heat.

Design

As shown in the image above, the weave is changed at both ends and in the center.

The part that touches your neck is made of pile fabric that is highly absorbent.

Pile weaving refers to a weaving technique in which the yarn is raised into loops on the surface of the fabric. Fabrics made with this technique are called "pile fabrics" and are found in towels, carpets, and several other clothing items. Pile fabrics are characterized by their softness, water absorption, and heat retention. These properties vary depending on the length and density of the pile and the type of yarn used.

The pile part has also been designed with a little ingenuity. Most regular towels have pile on both sides, but the pile on the Neck Wrap Towel is single-sided. Single-sided pile makes the back side gauze-like. Single-sided pile allows for greater breathability. You can choose which side touches your skin depending on your preference.

Both ends are woven with a "nanako" weave to make them as thin as possible and easy to tie.

The tip has the brand name and Imabari certification name.

Characteristics of Imabari towels

[The 5-second rule. Standards for maintaining quality]

Imabari towels undergo their own unique quality inspection. For example, there is the "five-second rule." When a towel is floated on water, does it begin to sink within five seconds? This is one of the quality standards established independently by the production area to guarantee the "absorbency" that is the greatest feature of Imabari towels. Only towels that meet these standards can bear the Imabari towel brand mark.

[Imabari's soft water makes Imabari towels soft]

A warm climate and abundant water sources. This natural environment has nurtured Imabari, one of Japan's leading towel production areas. In particular, the abundant underground water of the Sosha River is soft and perfect for towel making. This water is gentle on the thread and fabric, allowing for delicate and vibrant colors to be expressed and the natural softness of cotton to be fully brought out.

If fraying occurs

This product is made of pile fabric and may become frayed (pile loss) if caught on something.
