It is a rare and valuable item that can only be produced from Japanese paper that was used for textbooks and dictionaries from the end of the Edo period to the middle of the Meiji period.
In addition, the papier-mâché tiger is said to be related to the auspiciousness of "going a thousand miles and returning a thousand miles", and is also decorated to pray for the healthy growth of children.
