The titanium coating reflects heat, maximizing the heat retention of the AIR FLAKE® synthetic down.
AIR FLAKE® has been used at STATIC for many years. This synthetic down was developed through analysis of down, and boasts a lofty 850FP. Being synthetic, it's resistant to moisture and offers the peace of mind you expect from synthetic materials. It's also made from 100% recycled polyester.
Starting this season, AIR FLAKE® is made into a sheet sandwiched between nonwoven fabric, which allows for a functional design with fewer cold spots, which is unique to synthetic down, rather than the traditional baffle structure.
The AFTERBURNER HYBRID HOODY uses a user-friendly 80 g/m² AIR FLAKE® sheet, and the side panels from the hem to the underarms are made of Polartec® Power Grid™, which provides good ventilation and an improved fit.
It is a multi-purpose item that can be used as cold weather clothing in spring and summer and as activewear in autumn and winter.
RecycleNylon Titanium Sputtering
We use an advanced technology called "sputtering" to spray molecular-level titanium onto nylon fabric, applying an ultra-thin titanium coating to the nylon fabric without losing the fabric's inherent lightness or breathability.
The weight of the fabric remains the same, but the titanium coating reflects body heat, providing more effective heat retention.
Recycle Polyester AIR FLAKE®850FP
AIR FLAKE® was developed by analyzing the characteristics and shape of eider duck feathers that live in the Arctic Circle. Its distinctive feature is its high loft, achieving 850FP, which is comparable to natural down.
Until now, AIR FLAKE® was only available with a baffle structure, but starting this season, it has been updated with a new specification that sandwiches the nonwoven fabric to prevent unevenness.
*About titanium peeling
Due to the characteristics of the material, the titanium coating may peel off if rubbed against sharp objects such as fingernails or watches or if repeatedly subjected to strong friction.
Titanium coating can peel off if it comes into direct contact with the skin or if it is rubbed repeatedly in a humid environment such as sweat, but this product has Octa's brushed fleece layer, so there are almost no areas that come into direct contact with the skin, and since it is a tool that has little friction when loaded, the risk of peeling is reduced.
However, please note that due to the characteristics of the material, it does not "not peel at all."
