The Skala 38 is a frameless ultra-light backpack made with Gossamer Gear's new fabric that is both lightweight and durable. The 38L capacity is perfect for a 2-day, 1-night mountain trip or a lightweight packing traverse. Based on the roll-top structure, the parts selection and functional design that are carefully crafted down to the smallest detail will quietly push your limits.

Features

• Adopting two new materials

  • The main fabric is Riptide ripstop made from 100 denier recycled Robic nylon.

  • The exterior pocket is constructed from high-strength UHMWPE (ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) stretch mesh.

• Roll-top closure

  • The opening is a roll-top design, which can be fastened by clipping the tops together or by pulling them down on both sides (the side buckles are detachable).

• Lightweight Hardware

  • It uses parts that are both lightweight and easy to use, such as small buckles, compression straps, and Lightrek bungees.

• Unique bottle pocket mechanism

  • The water bottle pocket has a new cleat design that compresses when not in use.

• External pockets and storage

  • Features a zippered security pocket on the front and a small stretch mesh pocket on the shoulder strap.

• Comfortable design that conforms to your body

  • Perforated, foam-filled shoulder straps provide ventilation and comfort, and the Sitlight pad on the back is removable and can be replaced with a 19" Airflow Pad (sold separately).

• Other Specifications

  • The chest strap has a whistle, fixing loops for trekking poles or ice axes, and an internal tube port and hanging loop for hydration.

Size & Fit

The Skala 38 is available in one size, the recommended back length is approximately 46-53 cm (18-21 in).
This can be checked by measuring from C7 (the protrusion at the base of the neck) to the top of the ilium.
