Winter softshell pants made with the renewed Polartec® Power Shield™, which is PFAS-free and 48% plant-based.
For a long time, we have been using softshell pants on snowy mountains because they are flexible and stretchy. They are made of various materials, such as Polartec's old Power Shield and other original materials from various companies.
This time, we found a material from POLARTEC that is both functional and sustainable, so we developed a pair of winter softshell pants in our own way.
The Drifter Winter Pants are relaxed fit pants for hiking. The inseam is slightly longer so that they can be worn with waterproof low-cut shoes. Although they are not full seams, they are highly windproof, so they are recommended not only for hiking but also for traveling to cold places.
Side pocket specifications
In addition to the hand pocket on the front, there are zippered pockets the size of a smartphone on both sides.

"Polartec® Power Shield™"
POLARTEC boasts one of the world's leading shares in fleece and padding materials.
As we were selecting materials, the one that caught our eye the most was Polartec® Power Shield™, a winter softshell that has been revamped with a plant-based membrane.
The non-PFAS, non-porous membrane, named Biolon™, is made from 48% plant-based nylon, which is said to reduce CO2 emissions during fabric production by up to 50% compared to virgin nylon.
In terms of functionality, it has a supple texture, high stretchability, and a water resistance of 20,000mm, making it the perfect soft shell material for the winter season.
*Since the seams are not treated, it is not completely waterproof.
