DEVELOPMENT
This product was developed jointly with the aim of creating "the best mountain sunglasses available from a Japanese brand that can be used in harsh environments."

The name comes from Ama no Murakumo no Tsurugi, one of the Three Sacred Treasures, and expresses our desire to elevate the status of sunglasses in the world of gear.
We have developed a lens called "RED SHADOW" that has high visibility and color reproduction even in the harsh environment of snowy mountains. The lens is worthy of the name of FLAGSHIP, with the polarized and high contrast function that is the biggest feature of OWL MILS lenses. It suppresses red and orange wavelengths, and enhances the visibility of blue and green colors, making them clearer. Because it is a lens with high visibility of cool colors, it is most effective when doing activities in snow or snowy fields.
In addition, the mirror effect overcomes glare more than conventional products. Another advantage of this lens is that, despite the flash mirror processing, the difference in visible light transmittance between the lens and regular OWL MILS is only 1%. While maintaining a bright and clear field of vision, it leads to improved visibility in harsh environments. In addition, the back side is coated with AR coating to suppress reflections on the lens and support clearer vision. The mirror is thin and does not have a glaring visual appearance, making it easy to wear.
*The ATLAS flash mirror has a 6% lower visible light transmittance than the regular MILS LENS due to the mirror effect. MILS LENS RED SHADOW is a lens that achieves the contradictory effects of reducing glare while maintaining the brightness of the lens. *The front and back are water-repellent, assuming use on snow. This ensures a dry lens surface.
FRAME
"The brand's first 6-curve"
In harsh environments, visibility can be a big concern, and the current OWL MILS lineup of 4 curves tends to have poor light blocking capabilities. For this reason, Murakumo has adopted the 6 curve, which offers the best balance between visibility and light blocking capabilities.
The frame is made of Rilsan® Clear, which contains 45% plant-derived ingredients and is lightweight, flexible, and highly resistant to chemicals, making it an ideal material for sunglasses frames.
6-curve sunglasses may give a sporty impression, but Murakumo has paid particular attention to the design, such as adding keyholes to give the design a more casual feel. Furthermore, by eliminating as many "lines" as possible from the frame itself, the sportiness is further reduced, resulting in a design that is not too sporty.
