A high-intensity activity pant for roaming the mountains freely

Run, climb, cross over. The ultimate freedom of movement, born from more than ten years of updates.

Teton Bros.' Scrambling Pant is designed for "scrambling"—a blend of mountain-running speed and the dynamic movement of climbing.

More than a decade since its debut, it's a piece we stand behind, refined through repeated field testing and updates. A roomy pattern from the hips through the thighs, tapering below the knee, delivers footwork free of any stress on both climbs and descents. You could call it the optimal answer for high-intensity summer activity.

Functional details that connect straight to your activity

Gathers & drawcord for a stress-free fit

Gathers run all the way around the waist, easing the pressure that builds over long hours on the move. An internal drawcord lets you fine-tune the fit, keeping the pants from shifting during the shock of running or big climbing moves.

High-capacity hip pockets that stay out of the way

The back has pockets designed around how you use them: a roomy central pocket that easily stows a wind shell, flanked by flapped hip pockets on either side. All of them sit in carefully worked-out positions that don't interfere with your hip joints when you lift a leg high on a steep climb.

A crotch gusset that supports dynamic moves

A gusset at the crotch maximizes your hip's range of motion. Even high steps on rock or stepping over fallen trees won't leave the fabric straining—it follows the body's movement smoothly.

An in-house high-performance fabric

PERTEX EQUILIBRIUM

The fabric is TETON BROS.' original PERTEX EQUILIBRIUM: a double-weave of N66 recycled nylon made from 82% nylon and 18% polyester.

The tightly woven face blocks wind while a C0 DWR finish sheds rain, and the textured inner face won't cling to the skin even when you sweat, staying dry throughout. As an original spec, the yarn selection and weave density are tuned to dramatically improve lightness, stretch, and durability (high tear strength) over typical fabrics. It also carries the cool-to-the-touch feel characteristic of nylon, for a cool, comfortable wear even in the harshest midsummer fields.

Staff review

"Shorts make me feel uneasy, but regular long pants are too hot." This pair of pants has been my go-to for summer mountain climbing and trail running, bridging that gap. At a light 135g (M), its PERTEX EQUILIBRIUM material offers breathability and quick-drying properties, preventing it from sticking to the skin even when sweating. I was particularly impressed by how it covered my legs while maintaining breathability during long treks like the Omine Okugake-michi and Shigaichi.
