This flagship line from Merrell Test Lab brings together the brand's technology. These lightweight, highly functional trail running shoes deliver maximum performance in speed races and mid-distance trail races .

Based on the sole unit of the all-round model "MTL LONG SKY 2," which has become a staple since its release in 2022, the upper is clad in highly durable "MATRYX®," enabling a more aggressive, attacking run without worrying about the durability of the upper, even in rugged field conditions. Designed with a weight of approximately 240g (27.0cm /per shoe), it is intermediate between the ultra-lightweight top model "MTL SKYFIRE 2 MATRYX® / approximately 200g (27.0cm/per shoe)" and the "MTL LONG SKY 2 / approximately 280g (27.0cm/per shoe)."

Merrell Test Lab.'s mission is to "enable athletes around the world to perform at their best in mountain sports and outdoor activities" through product development, and they continue to innovate and evolve MERRELL's performance technology. The upper is made of a tough multifilament blend of Kevlar fiber and high-strength polyamide. It boasts exceptional abrasion resistance and minimizes stretch, ensuring the durability and stability of the upper. Using MATRYX® as a base allowed us to revise the upper pattern, which resulted in successfully reducing the number of overlay parts. This sustainable EVA foam offers excellent cushioning and rebound resilience, while also achieving the opposing properties of lightness and durability (long-lasting functionality). It is made using a "waste-free manufacturing process" to reduce environmental impact, and is made from easily recyclable TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) material.

This high-performance compound grip from Vibram, the world-renowned Italian sole manufacturer, offers unparalleled grip on wet surfaces and rugged terrain. The lug pattern and lug depth (5mm), which determine grip on the field, are carefully designed, with rubber stretched from the toe to the heel, absorbing shock upon landing and providing stability.
