A Yankee 70 splitting ax for chopping down shrubs.
Hand forged from Swedish ax steel using traditional methods dating back to 1697.
It is bent, hammered and forged many times resulting in a very strong ax with a higher molecular density.
Accurate quenching temperature control makes it difficult for the blade to chip, and the edge is strong and sharp.
The handle is made of hard and durable hickory wood.
Treatment with linseed oil (boiled for a few minutes) makes it more supple and flexible.
