We will be holding a workshop where you can indigo dye a plain CHAORAS sports tenugui. The appearance will change depending on the dyeing time and method, so please dye it with your own hands to make it unique.

What are sports tenugui?

This is a tenugui recommended for outdoor activities such as mountain climbing, camping, and trail running. Towels do not dry quickly and are bulky, so they are not suitable for carrying around. Tenugui are a little worrying when it comes to tough use in sports and outdoors. Sports tenugui are original CHAORAS products that aim to be "more than tenugui, but less than towels." It takes six processes and four factories to make one. All are handmade by Japanese craftsmen in Japanese factories.

About indigo dyeing

Indigo contains ingredients that insects dislike, so it is said to have an insect repellent effect. Indigo is also thought to have a deodorizing effect, inhibit the growth of bacteria, and block ultraviolet rays. Indigo dyeing also has the property of strengthening fibers.
This dye is a perfect match for sports towels that are used outdoors.
