Use as a fleece Octa®CPCP®

In recent years, "active insulation" has rapidly spread as a new standard in outdoor wear.
While overseas brands have been leading the way in development, STATIC has approached this category from a unique perspective.

The material used is TEIJIN's high-performance padding material. Octa®CPCP®.
STATIC uses this lightweight and highly insulating material as a "single layer of fleece" rather than as a "lining."

Overseas products developed in high-altitude, dry climates typically have Octa®CPCP® covered in a nylon shell, but we felt that this would be too heavy for Japan's climate and would reduce the freedom of layering.
For this reason, STATIC has chosen a simple structure that makes the most of the breathability and lightness of the material itself.

Material characteristics

Thanks to its special mesh structure, it is significantly lighter than regular thin fleece (approximately 300g) and has excellent heat retention.
It has an extremely high heat-to-weight ratio and is highly portable, making it useful all year round.

What is Octa®CPCP®?

A mesh fleece material that combines the mesh surface with irregular cross-section hollow polyester brushed fibers that act as heat-retaining material.
It is light, warm, and has good heat transfer properties, and although it is usually used as a lining, STATIC has deliberately used it as a standalone fleece.

Key Features

• Lightweight : Approximately half the weight of polyester fibers of the same diameter

• Sweat-wicking and quick-drying : Quickly disperses sweat and keeps the fabric away from the skin

• Heat insulation : The hollow structure and dead air contained in the protrusions provide excellent heat insulation.

Environmental Considerations

Octa®CPCP® is made of polyester wooly yarn and hollow octopus-shaped cross-section yarn.
Of this, 53.6% of the woolly yarn has been replaced with recycled polyester (ECOPET®), reducing CO₂ emissions during material production by approximately 23% (estimated by Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd.).

Furthermore, we are reducing our environmental impact through the following initiatives:

• Starting in Fall/Winter 2023, we will be the first in the industry to use recycled materials (53% recycled).

• Domestically produced in an OEKO-TEX® certified factory

• Biomass fuel is used in the dyeing process to reduce CO₂ emissions

• The scraps from cutting are recycled as recycled fabric.

• All tags are made from 100% recycled polyester derived from PET bottles

• Individual packaging has been discontinued and products are shipped in tissue paper packaging
