It's a beanie with a simple design, but I made it with some attention to ease of wearing and durability.
I aimed for a durable beanie that can be worn for a long time, rather than a soft beanie. Kataazeami is used for weaving. The feature is that the eyes are tightly packed with a knitting method like knit cuffs. It is also a disadvantage that the cost is high and the weight is heavy because a lot of threads are used because of the tightness.
The fineness of the knitting is changed on the head and forehead.
As a result, the head part is moderately relaxed. The forehead, which tends to become loose while wearing it, is finely woven to keep it tight. As you can see in the image above, the part that corresponds to the forehead has shrunk. In addition, a special anti-stretch thread is woven into the inside of the tip of the cover (pink part), which tends to stretch the most during use. Prevents the mouth from becoming loose.

The use of merino wool from New Zealand is proof that it is "non-mulesing wool". "Mulsing" is the cutting of the rump skin and meat from a lamb to prevent the sheep from becoming infested with maggots.
The merino breed, which was bred to obtain as much wool as possible, has a wide skin area and deep wrinkles on the skin. In the worst case, maggots can eat the skin and meat, leading to death.
"Mulsing" is a means to prevent it, but there are cases where no anesthesia and scar treatment are performed.
New Zealand banned such cruel mulesing from October 2018. Using New Zealand Merino is also using wool raw materials suitable for animal welfare.
100% wool and washable.
This thread is pre-shrunk to prevent fabric shrinkage after washing as much as possible.
Still, as long as it is a natural fiber, it will inevitably cause some shrinkage. Please refer to the following care method to use the product for a longer time.
・Please use detergent for wool when washing.
・It is recommended to turn the product inside out and put it in a laundry net and wash it by hand.
・The water temperature should be limited to 40°C, and avoid washing with hot water.
・Never tumble dry.
・After dehydration, we recommend reshaping and drying in the shade.
・If you do not wear it for a long time, please store it with an insect repellent after removing the dirt.
