Military solid fuel testing has shown that the ideal tablet weight is 14g, taking combustion efficiency into consideration. Taking into account the harsh military environment, military solid fuel is packaged in a completely moisture-proof blister pack. Each blister pack contains six 14g tablets, three at a time. One tablet burns for approximately 12 minutes. For boiling 500ml of water, one 14g tablet takes approximately 7.5 minutes, making it efficient. For a cup of tea, half or a quarter of a tablet is sufficient. For this reason, the tablets are indented for easy separation. Additional tablets can be easily added to the burning solid fuel to adjust the burn time. Each tablet produces 98kcal.

Esbit Solid Fuel: Esbit solid fuel burns with a stable flame even at high altitudes or in sub-freezing temperatures. It generates a high heat output (7,000 kcal/kg) without smoke or residue. It's useful for outdoor activities such as starting campfires and barbecue charcoal, preheating stoves, cooking, and boiling water. Its flash point is approximately 400°C, meaning it doesn't spontaneously combust or explode, making it safe to store. It's also extremely useful during natural disasters and large-scale disasters. (Highly flammable liquid and gas fuels pose portability and safety issues. Alcohol-based solid fuels, which liquefy when burned, are equally dangerous.) Esbit is also used by the military in Europe and other countries, including Germany and Switzerland. In addition to cooking food, it's also used to boil undrinkable water, defrost frozen foods, and disinfect medical equipment.
