BearVault® BV475-Trek Bear Canister
The BV475-Trek is a high-capacity model designed for long-term trekking and mountain areas with few supply points.
It can hold a 5-6 day supply of food for a solo hiker, and can be expanded by combining it with dried and compressed food. It is also suitable for short mountain hikes with small groups or families.
While the diameter is the same as the BV450 at 22.1cm, the height has been extended to 26.7cm, and the internal volume has been expanded to 9.3L. This makes it easy to fit into a 40-60L backpack, allowing for efficient packing.
The clear polycarbonate body makes it easy to see the contents. The wide opening allows for easy access to the back, making it easy to take things in and out while on the move. The rounded shape and high-strength materials are designed to prevent damage from bears and small animals, and the bag has been certified by the International Group for Border Protection (IGBC) in North America. It's a reliable choice for areas in Japan where brown bears live (Hokkaido, Shiretoko, Daisetsuzan, etc.) and on the traverse trails of Honshu, where Asiatic black bears live.
At campsites, by closing the lid securely, it can also be used as a stool, perfect for resting after a long day of activities.
