Introduction
Minimal Shorts “Min.Shorts”
What I aimed for with Min.Shorts was to create shorts that had the bare minimum of functionality.
The design is simple, yet focused on practicality for outdoor activities and everyday life.
I paid particular attention to the placement of the pockets because I love to keep my hands in my pockets while walking, whether I'm hiking or walking around town.
Two hand pockets are placed on both sides for easy access, and a zippered pocket is added to the right side for safety. A total of three pockets are designed to carry the bare necessities.
The zippered pocket on the right side is designed to be the minimum size necessary to store items such as a smartphone, wallet, and keys. Store items that you don't want to lose in this zippered pocket.
As for the material used, we chose medium-weight stretch CORDURA® nylon, which is known for its particularly high resistance to abrasion. It ensures the shorts' durability in various everyday situations. In addition, it features a slim silhouette that makes use of its stretchability, allowing for both ease of movement and style. As for the length of the pants, we focused on a balance between being neither too short nor too long, ensuring a comfortable fit that suits a variety of body types.
Material
The design of "Min.Shorts" was aimed at a slim finish, so it was necessary to use a stretchy material. We created samples using various stretch materials and tried on each one to compare them. When selecting the material to use, the content of polyester, nylon, and polyurethane was important. When testing, the thing I placed the most importance on was "comfort to wear."
There are fabrics on the market that are lighter than the fabric I chose this time and have excellent stretchability even without polyurethane. However, when I wore it for a long time, I often felt a gradual discomfort. It's difficult to describe this feeling in words... When I test products, I wear them continuously from morning to night for about a week without washing them, and sometimes I even sleep with them on. During this test period, many fabrics deteriorate and often cannot maintain their initial comfort. Washing can refresh the fabric and restore its comfortable fit, but the fabric I chose this time maintained its comfort even after wearing it for a long time.
"New discoveries in stretch pants"
Up until now, I have often preferred to wear non-stretch pants. I have tried stretch pants in the past, but they always lost their shape as I wore them, and I was never able to wear them comfortably for long periods of time. However, with the material I chose this time, I didn't experience that problem, and I rediscovered the comfort of stretch pants through their fit.
The material used, CORDURA®, is highly resistant to abrasion, tearing, and fraying. The use of CORDURA® increases durability and extends the life of the product. We believe that this durability allows Min.Shorts to be worn comfortably in a variety of everyday situations and can be used for a long time.

There are two hand pockets on both sides for easy access.
This time, we did not include a gusset, which is a common feature of climbing pants. We created a product sample with a gusset using the fabric used this time and tried it out, but to be honest, we did not feel much difference in mobility. Perhaps because of the stretchy fabric, we were able to move comfortably even with the pattern without a gusset.
There are no slits on the sides of the hem.

The image shows an iPhone 13 with a case on, but it can be stored with plenty of room.
There is flat elastic inside the waistband, but if you want to adjust the waistband further, you can use the flat string to adjust the size.
Deep rise
Another feature is the deep rise design. If the rise is shallow, you may be a little worried that your waist will be exposed when bending over, but by setting the rise deep, this problem is solved.
If you find them uncomfortable when wearing them, try folding the waistband once.
